Two job vacancies at Skill

Skill is looking to recruit an Information and Services Manager to its London office, to lead the management of direct services to disabled people. We are also seeking a Cardiff-based Senior Policy and Information Officer to lead our work in Wales. The closing date for both posts is Friday 17 July.

Benefits and support for disabled students in higher education Logo - Skill and Disability Alliance. Training in Partnership

 

 

This popular 1-day introductory course is aimed at staff who advise students in higher education. It gives an overview of the benefits, loans and grants available to disabled students as well as practical ways to help them protect their benefit rights and maximise their entitlement. The course covers:

  • the benefit implications of moving into higher education
  • Employment and Support Allowance and how it is affected by study
  • Claiming Disability Living Allowance
  • how loans and grants affect means-tested benefits
  • who can get Housing Benefit
  • students and Tax Credits

How much does it cost? 
Standard rate £120 per place or £90 per place for Disability Alliance or Skill Members. Includes lunch
